I’m Kaylee Ryan, an artist drawn to the parts of being human that aren't always easy to put into words.
I came to art seriously later in life, after years spent caring for others, navigating change, and trying to understand my own inner world. Painting became a place where I could stop trying to explain everything and simply respond; to color, texture, memory, instinct, and emotion.
My work moves between realism and abstraction, control and intuition, darkness and light. I'm interested in vulnerability, identity, nostalgia, and the strange way something visual can make us feel before we fully understand why.
For me, making art is an exercise in letting go. I don't want to tell you exactly what to see in a piece. I want to leave enough room for you to bring something of yourself to it.
If you felt something, it worked.
